Apologies first up for the delay on this one. Sidewayz 2012 opened at Global Gallery in Thursday 23rd of August. The crowd was huge, skateboards were on the walls the bidding began.
Sidewayz is an sorta-annual exhibition of artworks created with pre-loved skateboards and snowboards. There’s a splash of photography for good measure. The boards are donated by skaters, transformed by artists and then donated to the exhibition. All money raised this year went to the charity organisation VOICE.
Had we been more punctual with this post we would have shared the details of how to get involved with bidding on artworks – unfortunately it’s all over. Congratulations to everyone who snatched up a bargain and gave their money to the cause!
