From Plump Gallery:
A Solo Exhibition by Tania Safi.
We are in a world of constant gain and loss.
More than ever before are we watching the endangered become extinct, the consequences of overindulgence and the perishing of environments or peace. This reality propels most of us to maintain our own lives or, quite simply, to live. Safi asks us, why, then it is so difficult for us to confront life? Why blood is recoiled from rather than glorified? From three dimensional depictions of human anatomy exploding like fireworks to wax”cinnamon skulls”, the works explore our insides and animals. Animals already gone and those still present. These are things that she is delighted by most.
But it is not all blood and guts. Cats, flowers and dinosaurs feature as some of the many other curiosities that consume Safi’s realm. Have a peer inside yourself and relish in a night of film, wax, paint and luscious red treats.
The evening begins at 6pm and will end at 9pm. Drinks at the Duke after. The exhibition will be open Tue-Thurs from 10am-6pm and Fri-Sat from 11:30am-7pm.
