Woolloomooloo Festival on Wheels [Monstrosity Gallery + Sable + Argent Cycle Store]

From Monstrosity:

A two day celebration of Woolloomooloo, with it’s new separated cycle paths, emerging arts scene and general loveliness. The festival encourages dialog about cycling in Sydney and the council’s vision for a greener, more sustainable city.

Featuring an exhibition of art related to the theme of cycling and sustainability, plus a festival day filled with live music, a DJ, a BBQ, cycling stunts, cycling film screenings and a cycle swap meet, where cycling enthusiasts from all over Sydney meet to buy, sell and exchange bikes and bike parts.

Kids and adults alike are encouraged to bring their bikes and soak up the festival atmosphere.

7:00pm – NELL SCHOFIELD, charismatic presenter of Showtime’s Movie News, enthusiastic arts supporter, enviromental advocate and avid cyclist. Nell will be launching the Festival on Wheels, and talking about her cycling experiences

12pm – Former rugby league footballer, actor and Sydney Cycling Ambassador IAN ROBERTS will get the town talking about cycling in Sydney.

2-3.30pm – Artist Talks
* TODD FULLER – Sculptor, animator and illustrator, winner of the Newcastle Emerging Artist Prize 2010
* PHIL SOLIMAN – Photographer, filmmaker, designer and installation artist
* A. WEST – Sculptor, painter, printmaker and designer
* QWUX – Photographer and printmaker talks about his amazing experiences in Tokyo Other artists to be confirmed…

4pm – Cameron Jones from Unearthed-featured band FERVENT, and THE SWING SET’s Peter Kelly, make beautiful jazz together
