The Basement has opened its doors to the wider artistic community in a collaborative effort to liven up the city. Every month starting from the 19th of JULY the Basements upstairs cocktail bar will be transformed into a living breathing exhibition space that will allow some of Sydney youngest but most talented artists the opportunity to showcase their work. This initiative will become a regular instalment in the Basement calendar, So come down for a drink and support the aspiring artists of this city.
Although this historic music venue has survived for over 19 years, it remains one of Sydneys best kept secrets. To arrive at our warm and welcoming doors, simply find 7 Macquarie PLACE, Circular Quay.
Two Sydney based artists will opening the Basic Space Galleries on Monday 19th July – Scott Cotterell and Lucy Le Masurier. Both artists explore the personnel subject of portraiture, however through different forms. Scott is an incredibly talented artist that transcribes life with a brush whereas lucys breathtaking eye captures the intensity of moments through a lense. More info will be posted closer to the date but here is a quick teaser of whats to come!!!
